Triple-A Scranton (4-3 win over Syracuse in ten innings, walk-off style) they finished the regular season at 91-52, tying the franchise record for wins … no other Triple-A team won more than 85 games this season … their best-of-five first round series with Lehigh Valley (Phillies) begins Wednesday … LHP Jordan Montgomery, LHP Phil Coke, and RHP Bryan Mitchell are starting the first three games according to Chad Jennings

  • CF Mason Williams: 0-4 — he hit .298/.315/.380 in 43 games after shoulder surgery, so the power was a little light, but everything else was typical Williams
  • DH Clint Frazier: 1-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 3 K — smacked a dinger in his first game back from the hamstring injury (here’s video) … he finishes the season with a .263/.335/.447 batting line, 27 doubles, 16 homers, and 13 steals in 119 total games … he hit .228/.278/.396 in 25 Triple-A games after coming over in the Andrew Miller trade
  • 3B Donovan Solano: 2-4, 2 2B, 1 BB, 1 K — minor league signee hit .319/.346/.436 with 33 doubles, seven homers, and an International League leading 163 hits
  • 1B Chris Parmelee: 1-3, 1 BB, 1 K
  • RF Cesar Puello: 1-5, 1 RBI — walk-off single to end the season … the former top Mets prospect hit .283/.413/.404 with five homers and 18 steals in 78 games … nice little signing by the Yankees
  • LF Jake Cave: 0-4, 1 R — hit .268/.330/.427 with a career high eight homers in 116 total games this year after failing to make the Reds as a Rule 5 Draft pick in Spring Training
  • C Kyle Higashioka: 1-4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K — finishes his breakout season with a .276/.337/.511 batting line and a career high (by far) 21 homers in 102 total games
  • SS-1B Cito Culver: 1-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K — the Summer of Cito ends with a .254/.315/.349 line in 117 total games
  • LHP Richard Bleier: 5.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 10/2 GB/FB — 50 of 77 pitches were strikes (71%)
  • RHP Gio Gallegos: 2.1 IP, zeroes, 3 K, 2/2 GB/FB — 18 of 27 pitches were strikes (67%) … the 25-year-old finishes the season with a 1.27 ERA and a 106/17 K/BB in 78 total innings
  • RHP J.R. Graham: 2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 1/0 GB/FB — 23 of 33 pitches were strikes (70%) … the Yankees got him from the Twins in cash deal in mid-May and he’s somehow remained on the 40-man roster every since … maybe the most amazing part of the season

Double-A Trenton (11-6 loss to Reading in ten innings) they finished the season at 87-55 … their best-of-five first round series with Reading (Phillies) begins Wednesday … Matt Kardos says it appears RHP Ronald Herrera will start Game One with RHP Will Carter in Game Two and LHP Justus Sheffield in Game Three

  • SS Abi Avelino: 2-6, 1 2B, 1 K, 1 E (fielding) — closes out the season with a .260/.320/.364 batting line with 28 doubles, six homers, and 21 steals in 126 total games
  • RF Billy McKinney: 0-4, 2 BB, 2 K — he hit .246/.342/.338 with 19 doubles and four homers in 123 total games, including .234/.314/.375 in 34 games since coming over in the Aroldis Chapman trade … he hit three of his four homers with the Yankees
  • 3B Miguel Andujar: 3-5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI — ends his breakout season with a .273/.332/.410 batting line and new career highs in doubles (26) and homers (12) in 130 total games
  • DH Mike Ford: 2-4, 2 R, 2 BB
  • 1B Dante Bichette Jr.: 2-5, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 2 K — he hit .243/.341/.374 with 19 doubles and nine homers in 114 games
  • RHP Kyle Haynes: 5.2 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 6/6 GB/FB — 68 of 102 pitches were strikes (67%)
  • LHP James Reeves: 0.2 IP, zeroes, 1 K, 0/1 GB/FB — ten pitches, seven strikes … last year’s tenth rounder finishes with a 2.22 ERA and a 117/30 K/BB in 97.1 total innings
  • RHP Cale Coshow: 1 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 0/1 GB/FB — 21 of 35 pitches were strikes (60%) … allowed three homers in his inning of work … finishes with a 4.03 ERA and a 70/50 K/BB in 89.1 innings this year after having a 2.45 ERA with a 97/28 K/BB in 114 innings last year

High-A Tampa‘s season ended yesterday. Their best-of-three first round series with Dunedin (Blue Jays) begins tomorrow.

Low-A Charleston (14-2 win over Columbia) they finished the season at 77-63 … their best-of-three first round series with Rome (Braves) begins Wednesday

  • SS Kyle Holder: 3-6, 3 R, 1 K — defensive specialist finishes the season at .290/.321/.347 with 13 doubles, one homer, and eight steals
  • DH Mandy Alvarez: 4-6, 2 R, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K — this year’s 17th rounder finishes his pro debut with .287/.306/.405 batting line, 15 doubles, five homers, ten walks, and only 26 strikeouts in 66 games … that’s a 9.2% strikeout rate
  • RF Jhalan Jackson: 1-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 K — threw a runner out at second … finishes with a .236/.312/.415 batting line, 28 doubles, eleven homers, 38 walks, and 114 strikeouts in 103 games
  • CF Estevan Florial: 2-6, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 K — the 18-year-old wunderkind finishes his first season in the U.S. with a .227/.311/.371 batting line, ten doubles, eight homers, ten steals, 30 walks, and 85 strikeouts in 67 total games … that’s a 28.4% strikeout rate
  • C Luis Torrens: 2-4, 2 R, 2 BB, 2 K — he hit .250/.350/.337 with ten doubles, two homers, 26 walks, and 33 strikeouts in 52 games following shoulder surgery, which is pretty good, all things considered … he’s still only 20, you know
  • 2B Hoy Jun Park: 2-3, 1 R, 1 3B, 4 RBI, 2 BB — he hit .225/.334/.328 with 15 doubles, 12 triples, two homers, 32 steals in 35 attempts (91%), 67 walks, and 120 strikeouts in 116 games … that’s a 13.0% walk rate and a 23.2% strikeout rate
  • RHP Luis Cedeno: 5.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 6 K, 5/3 GB/FB — 60 of 98 pitches were strikes (61%)
  • RHP Anyelo Gomes: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 1/3 GB/FB — 19 of 27 pitches were strikes (70%)

Short Season Staten Island (5-2 win over Brooklyn) they finished the season at 44-31 … their best-of-three first round series with State College (Cardinals) starts Wednesday

  • DH Dom Thompson-Williams: 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K — this year’s fifth rounder finishes with a .246/.346/.344 batting line, eight doubles, three homers, and 15 steals in 56 pro games
  • 2B Nick Solak: 1-4, 1 K — this year’s second rounder hit .321/.412/.421 with 13 doubles, three homers, eight steals, 30 walks, and 39 strikeouts in 64 pro games
  • 3B Drew Bridges: 1-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 E (fielding)
  • RHP Jonathan Padilla: 4.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 WP, 7/2 GB/FB — 56 of 80 pitches were strikes (70%)
  • LHP Phil Diehl: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 2/1 GB/FB — 18 of 22 pitches were strikes (82%) … this year’s 27th rounder finishes his pro debut with a 2.41 ERA and a 41/6 K/BB in 33.2 innings

The season is over for Rookie Pulaski, Rookie GCL Yanks East, and Rookie GCL Yanks West. None of the three teams qualified for the postseason.
