- The Red Sox came to town next. CC Sabathia pitched the Yankees to a 6-2 win Thursday in the opener, but the offense didn’t do much of anything in Friday’s 4-1 loss. The Yankees received a great start from Masahiro Tanaka in Saturday’s 5-1 win, then won a 9-2 blowout Sunday.
- Injury Updates: Aaron Hicks (oblique) was placed on the 10-day DL with a strain, though it’s not as bad as his last one. Aaron Judge (shoulder) continues to receive treatment but has not yet had a cortisone shot. Aroldis Chapman (elbow) had an MRI last week, which came back clean.
