Wednesday Night Open Thread

Big day for AL East news. Orioles closer/trade chip/impending free agent Zach Britton will miss 4-6 months after blowing out his Achilles during an offseason workout, and the Rays traded franchise player Evan Longoria to the Giants for Denard Span and three prospects. Longoria’s status as a Yankees Killer has been overstated — he’s hit .231/.290/.375 against the Yankees the last three seasons — and the Rays were able to unload a declining player signed at big money for another five seasons. In the grand scheme of things, the Longoria trade was bad for the Yankees. That’s my hot take.

Anyway, here is tonight’s open thread. The Nets are playing, there’s a bunch of college basketball on as well, and from what I understand there’s even a college football bowl game on somewhere. Talk about that stuff, the Longoria trade, the Britton injury, or anything else here.
