Here We Go Again: the Joba fist pump edition

Triple-A Scranton (5-4 win over Charlotte in 11 innings, walk-off style) thankfully a reliever (probably Britton) will be shipped to Scranton tomorrow to make room for Igawa, because tomorrow’s pitching staff would have been Heath Phillips (4 innings as the starter, tops), Steven Jackson and Scott Patterson
Justin Christian: 0 for 3, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 HBP – walk-off walk
Alberto Gonzalez & Cody Ransom: both 1 for 5 – Ransom tripled, scored a run & K’ed
Eric Duncan, Matt Carson & JD Closser: all 1 for 4, 1 BB – Duncan scored a run & K’ed … Carson scored a run & swiped a bag … Closser drove in a run & K’ed
Greg Porter: 2 for 5, 1 R, 1 E (throwing)
Brett Gardner: 0 for 0, 1 R – pinch-run for Porter in the 11th, stole 3rd and set up the play that led to the win
Jeff Marquez: 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 1 E (throwing), 7-7 GB/FB – picked a runner off first … 60 of 83 pitches were strikes (72.3%)
David Robertson: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K – safe to say he won’t be available tomorrow
Billy Traber: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER – gave up a double to a lefty, and coaxed a fly out from a righty … his second straight day of work, so he won’t be available for much work tomorrow
Scott Strickland: 2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K – both walks were intentional … not going to be available for tomorrow’s game

Double-A Trenton (7-2 win over Erie)
Kevin Russo: 1 for 4, 3 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 SB
Austin Jackson: 1 for 4, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K – one of these days he’ll park one over the fence, you watch
Colin Curtis: 0 for 4, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K
Edwar Gonzalez: 2 for 5, 3 RBI, 1 K – threw a runner out at third from LF … 8 RBI in 7 games since the promotion
Jose Tabata: 1 for 3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K
Carlos Mendoza: 3 for 4, 1 2B, 3 RBI
Reegie Corona: 1 for 3, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 SB
Jason Jones: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 6-6 GB/FB – raises his ERA to 2.36
Anthony Claggett: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1-7 GB/FB
Josh Schmidt: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

High-A Tampa (4-2 win over Brevard County)
Damon Sublett: 2 for 3, 1 R, 2 HB, 1 E (fielding)
Mitch Hilligoss & Josue Calzado: both 1 for 4, 1 BB – Hilligoss K’ed once … Calzado scored 2 runs, stole 2 bags & K’ed
Jose Gil & Kevin Smith: both 0 for – Gil drove in a run & drew a walk
Seth Fortenberry: 0 for 3, 2 BB
James Cooper: 3 for 3, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Tim Battle: 1 for 3, 1 3B, 1 BB
Al Aceves: 5.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 1 WP, 9-1 GB/FB – someone asked me in the comments what Aceves’ deal is (sorry I forgot who asked exactly), and there is no deal, he’s a 25 year old A-ball roster filler … he had a decent year in the Mexican League last year, but he’s not some hidden gem or anything like that, he is what he is … the only thing the Yanks saw in him when they signed him was innings
Mark Melancon: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 2-3 GB/FB

Low-A Charleston is having a late night. Rain pushed the start of game back over an hour, then they went into extras. As of this writing, they’re playing in the 10th. Here’s the box score, I’m not going to wait around to provide an update, but you should know that Abe Almonte left the game in the first after trying to bunt for a base hit.
