Yanks offense makes life easy for Javy in 9-3 win

Triple-A Scranton (3-2 win over Indianapolis)
Reid Gorecki, LF, Rene Rivera, C, Reegie Corona, 2B & Greg Golson, CF: all 1 for 4 – Gorecki K’ed … Rivera drove in two & K’ed twice … Corona doubled & K’ed … Golson hit a solo jack & K’ed
Matt Cusick, 3B & Colin Curtis, RF: both 0 for 4 – Cusick K’ed thrice, Curtis twice
Eduardo Nunez, SS: 1 for 3, 1 R, 1 K, 1 HBP
Jesus Montero, DH: 3 for 4, 1 R, 1 2B – eight for his last 20 (.400) with four doubles … he wasn’t even supposed to play today, he was a late add because of Chad Huffman’s promotion
David Winfree, 1B: 1 for 2, 2 HBP
Dustin Moseley: 7 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 10 K, 1 WP, 10-1 GB/FB – 66 of 108 pitches were strikes (61.1%) … that’s one helluva start … 21 outs recorded & just one in the air? studly
Boone Logan: 1 IP, zeroes, 2 K, 0-1 GB/FB – 12 of his 20 pitches were strikes (60%)
Jon Albaladejo: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K – 13 of his 20 pitches were strikes (65%)

Double-A Trenton (6-0 win over Binghamton)
Justin Christian, LF: 1 for 4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Austin Krum, CF & Luis Nunez, SS: both 0 for 3, 1 K – Krum drew a walk & scored a run
Austin Romine, C & Jorge Vazquez, 3B: both 0 for 4 – Romine is now two for his last 27 (.074) … after the game, Vazquez was promoted to Triple-A after the game, presumable to take Huffman’s spot
Brandon Laird, 1B: 1 for 4, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 2 K – 13th homer of the year moves his past last year’s total of a dozen
Dan Brewer, RF: 0 for 2, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K
Marcos Vechionacci, DH: 2 for 3, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K – 14 for his last 30 (.467)
Justin Snyder, 2B: 0 for 1, 2 R, 2 BB
D.J. Mitchell: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 13-5 GB/FB – now there’s the ground ball machine he’s supposed to be … lost the perfect game when he walked the leadoff hitter in the 5th … lost the no-hitter on a single through the right side in the 7th … easily his best outing of the season
Grant Duff: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 1-3 GB/FB

High-A Tampa is off until Monday for the All Star break. The South All Stars beat the North All Stars 5-4 in 10 innings (box score). Every Yankee farmhand selected to game played except for Hector Noesi, who is now in Double-A.
Corban Joseph, 2B: 1 for 3, 1 BB – started at second, batted fifth & played the entire game
Jack Rye, RF: 2 for 3, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K – started in right, batted eighth & played the entire game
Mitch Abeita, C: 0 for 1, 1 K – entered the game in the top of the 4th … was replaced in the top of the 7th
Adam Warren: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 2-0 GB/FB – 12 of his 19 pitches were strikes (63.2%) … he started the game … that’s two All Star appearances in his twelve months as a pro

Low-A Charleston (5-3 loss to Hagerstown)
Jimmy Paredes, 3B & Emerson Landoni, SS: both 0 for 4, 1 K – Paredes committed a throwing error … Landoni drove in a run with a sac fly
Zoilo Almonte, RF: 2 for 4, 1 RBI, 1 K
J.R. Murphy, DH: 1 for 4 – got picked off third, which is absolutely inexcusable in the big leagues … luckily for him, he’s still in the Sally League
Rob Lyerly, 1B: 3 for 3, 1 BB – dude is 17 for his last 28 (.607), bumping his AVG all the way up to .314
Kyle Higashioka, C: 0 for 2, 1 BB, 1 PB
DeAngelo Mack, LF: 1 for 3, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K – six for his last 16 (.375) with three doubles & a homer
Hector Rabago, 2B: 0 for 3, 1 BB
Ray Kruml, CF: 3 for 4, 2 R, 2 2B, 1 K, 1 SB – pffft, Slade coulda done better
Josh Romanski: 7 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 8-7 GB/FB – very nice for his third start back from elbow surgery
Dickie Marquez: 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, 1-2 GB/FB
