Man, talk about getting an early start. I checked the schedules at about 9 am Pacific time this morning (noon in the Boogie Down) for pitching probables like I do everyday, and 3 of the 4 games hadn’t just started by then, they were already half over…

Triple-A Scranton (2-1 loss to Toledo in 10 innings) they were already in the 6th inning when I checked the schedules…
Kevin Reese: 2 for 5, 1 2B, 2 K – probably his best game in what has been a miserable season
Andy Phillips: 2 for 4, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Bronson Sardinha: 1 for 3, 1 BB, 2 K
The Duncan’s: combined 0 for 7, 1 BB, 2 K – each struck out once, Eric drew the walk
Alberto Gonzalez: 0 for 4, 2 K – just 5 hits in his last 36 AB, with 0 XBH
Tyler Clippard: 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 11 K – making a case to fill-in for Hughes, but give me Mighty Matt (I’m still waiting for that royalties check James)
TJ Beam: 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K – went from prospect to AAAA guy in under a month

Double-A Trenton (3-2 win over New Hampshire) they were in the 3rd inning…
Brett Gardner: 0 for 1, 3 BB, 1 CS – games like this explain why his OBP is roughly 110 points higher than his BA
Justin Christian: 3 for 3, 1 R, 1 CS – classic leadoff guy batted cleanup for probably the first time in his life
Aarom Baldiris: 2 for 4, 1 E (throwing) – that’s his 9th error in only 18 games
Matt Carson: 1 for 4, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Alan Horne: 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, 1 WP, 6-3 GB/FB – nearly doubled his season walk total with this game
Kevin Whelan: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 0-5 GB/FB – hasn’t been as good as advertised, not at all…

Tim Battle: 1 for 5, 1 R, 2 K, 1 SB
Colin Curtis: 1 for 5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
Mr. Miranda: 1 for 4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
