New Yankee Stadium won't have the best seats in the house

George Kontos is expected to return to action sometime this week, supposedly a “minor” shoulder injury is the culprit. I believe it’s no coincidence that Joba was promoted to Trenton just as Kontos is returning from the DL.

Timmy Norton, on the other hand, isn’t so lucky; dude had surgery on his shoulder and is out until 2008. Nuts.

Triple-A Scranton (6-4 win over Durham)
Kevin Thompson: 1 for 3, 1 R, 2 BB – picked off first
Kevin Reese: 2 for 4, 2 R, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Andy Phillips: 1 for 3, 1 R, 2 BB, 1 K, 1 SB
Shelley Duncan: 1 for 5, 1 RBI, 1 K – only 1 XBH in last 9 games…
Angel Chavez: 0 for 3, 1 BB, 1 SB
Bronson Sardinha & Alberto Gonzalez: both 1 for 4, 1 R, 1 2B – Sardinha struck out once
Chase Wright: 6.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 6 K, 1 WP, 1 HB, 9-4 GB/FB
Chris “I’m better than Luis Vizcaino” Britton: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
Jim Brower: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Double-A Trenton had a scheduled off day.

High-A Tampa (5-1 loss to Dunedin)
Reegie Corona: 1 for 5
Colin Curtis: 2 for 3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB – BA went from .230 to .303 during current 19 game smash the cover off the ball streak
Jose Tabata: 0 for 5, 1 K – healthy enough to hit, but not play the field (he DHed)
Juan Miranda: 0 for 4, 1 K – hit streak and RBI streak snapped at 15 and 9 games, respectively
Marcos Vechionacci: 2 for 4, 2 2B – 15 for his last 36…
Frankie Cervelli: 1 for 4, 1 R
Russ Raley: 2 for 4, 1 2B, 1 K
Phil Coke: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 WP, 3-7 GB/FB
Guillermo Villalona-Bryan: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, 1 HB – given how bad he’s pitched compared to some of the other guys that were around him at the start of the year, it’s hard to believe he was Tampa’s Opening Day starter…

Low-A Charleston (10-5 loss to Savannah)
Mitch Hilligoss: 2 for 5, 1 R, 2 K, 1 CS – hit safely in 46 of his last 47 games…
Austin Jackson: 2 for 4, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Chris Malec: 3 for 5, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 3B
Seth Fortenberry: 1 for 4, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K – up to 46 RBI on the year
Kyle Anson: 2 for 4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K
Jose Gil: 2 for 4, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 2 PB, 2 E (missed catch, throwing) – so not only is he hitting .237, he’s also committed 6 errors and allowed 15 passed balls in 51 games…
Grant Duff: 5 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 9-2 GB/FB
Garrett Patterson: .2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 1 K – 57 baserunners allowed in 32.1 IP
David Robertson: 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 1 WP – ERA up to 0.92
