Joba Watch
Would the real Alex Rodriguez please stand up...please stand up...please stand up

Joba was named Florida State League pitcher of the week, but that’s not as cool as being part of a River Ave Blues Watch.

Triple-A Scranton (9-1 win over Columbus)
Kevin Thompson: 2 for 5, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 K, 1 E (fielding)
Chris Basak: 3 for 5, 1 R, 2 2B, 1 RBI – 8 doubles in last 9 games
Andy Phillips: 2 for 4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Bronson Sardinha: 2 for 4, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB
Shelley Duncan: 2 for 5, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 K - 6 XBH in last 4 games…for the love of God, get him in the bigs before he cools off and this is all for naught!!!
Alberto Gonzalez: 0 for 4, 1 R, 1 K, 1 HBP
Omir Santos: 1 for 3, 2 R, 1 HR, 2 K, 1 HBP, 1 PB
Chase Wright: 6.1 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Jim Brower: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 WP

Double-A Trenton had a scheduled off day.

High-A Tampa (8-0 loss to Dunedin)
Reegie Corona, Jose Tabata, Juan Miranda: all 1 for 4 – Miranda K’ed (surprise surprise)
Frankie Cervelli: 1 for 2, 1 BB
rest of lineup: 0 for 17, 4 K, 1 E (Kevin Russo, fielding)
Eric Hacker: 3 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 HB – rushed  to High-A after missing all of 2004 & 2006 with arm trouble, and it shows…
Josh Schmidt: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Bryan Villalona: 1.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, 1 WP – bumped from the rotation by Joba (who else?)
Zach Kroenke: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

Low-A Charleston (7-1 loss to Asheville)
Mitch Hilligoss: 3 for 4 – minor league leading 21 game hit streak…and counting
Austin Jackson: 0 for 2, 2 BB, 1 SB – 2 walks and no strikeouts? that’s impressive for Action Jackson
Seth Fortenberry, Chris Malec, Brian Baisley: all 1 for 4 – Fortenberry and Malec each K’ed once
Eduardo Nunez: 3 for 4, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI – SLG went from .282 to .316…
Ivan Nova: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K- just called up from Extended Spring, and don’t be fooled by this start, he’s legit…92-94 mph fastball, knockout changeup, and decent curve for the 20 yr old
Jon Hovis: .2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP
Chris Kunda: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 Er, 0 BB, 0 K, 0-3 GB/FB – second baseman by trade, and he never even threw a pitch while at Oregon State…

David “nails in the coffin” Robertson hasn’t pitched in a game since May 6th…these injuries are getting frustrating…
