- The first personnel moves of the offseason were made. First, Rico Noel was outrighted to Triple-A. More importantly, hitting coach Jeff Pentland and bullpen coach Gary Tuck were fired.
- The Yankees are likely to pursue Jeff Samardzija as a free agent this offseason and are “leaning toward” using Rob Refsnyder and Dustin Ackley at second base next year. Chris Young said it is “too soon” to know whether he will re-sign with the Yankees.
- Ian Clarkin will make his first Arizona Fall League start today. Domingo Acevedo has been assigned to the AzFL as well. Luis Severino, Aaron Judge, Greg Bird, and Gary Sanchez were ranked among the top Triple-A International League prospects by Baseball America.
- Player personnel head Kevin Reese and scouts Tim Naehring and Jay Darnell are among the candidates to replace departed assistant GM Billy Eppler.
- The Yankees hold the 22nd pick in the 2016 draft.
