As the U.S. economy, strong fundamentals and all, falls apart around us, Tony Gabriele, a writer for The Daily Press out of Newport News, Virginia, knows who to blame. It is, he says, all the Yankees’ fault. When the Yanks missed the playoffs in 1929, the Great Depression followed, and now history is repeating itself. So really, everyone in the U.S. should be rooting for the Yanks. That, my friends, is sound logic.
