Earlier today the Yankees claimed C Chris Rabago off waivers from the Rockies, the team announced. He’s been optioned to Double-A Trenton. Rabago, 25, is hitting .213/.292/.361 (81 wRC+) in 66 Double-A games last season. He put up a .280/.349/.382 (102 wRC+) line in 211 games at the lower levels from 2015-17. Just a depth pickup. I don’t think Rabago will be on the 40-man roster very long.
